Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering particularly strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, finance and technology. The culture is multicultural and modern, while Islamic traditions influence public behaviour, dress and holidays. Dubai provides a fast-paced lifestyle, excellent transport, international schools, extensive shopping, beaches and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers generally arrange work permits, medical checks and Emirates ID processing. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave and flight benefits before accepting an offer. Relocating normally requires a valid passport, authenticated qualifications where needed and a clear employment contract. Abu Dhabi and other emirates may offer a quieter lifestyle and different housing costs.
