The Food & Beverage Team Leader supports the smooth operation of restaurant and bar services at Mövenpick Hotel Auckland. Requirements typically include previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, or a supervisory position; strong communication skills; a guest-focused attitude; and the legal right to work in New Zealand. The successful candidate is expected to lead and motivate team members, coordinate daily service, maintain quality and presentation standards, handle guest requests and complaints professionally, follow food safety and workplace health requirements, and assist with training and shift organisation. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays is important. Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and responsible service practices is advantageous.
Mövenpick Hotel Auckland is an upscale hotel in central Auckland, operated under the Mövenpick brand, part of Accor, one of the world’s leading hospitality groups. The hotel offers accommodation, dining, meetings and events, and is positioned close to Auckland’s waterfront, commercial district and major attractions. Mövenpick is known for contemporary European-inspired hospitality, quality food and beverage experiences, and its distinctive chocolate and dessert heritage. As an Accor property, the hotel generally promotes international service standards, professional development, employee benefits and opportunities to move between brands and destinations. Its teams serve leisure travellers, business guests, groups and local customers, making collaboration, cultural awareness and consistent guest service important parts of the working environment.
New Zealand consists mainly of the North and South Islands, with Auckland on the North Island and strong hospitality demand in Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown, Christchurch, Rotorua and tourist regions. Opportunities are available in hotels, restaurants, resorts, wineries, events and seasonal tourism. Workplace culture is generally friendly, practical and team-oriented, with emphasis on reliability, inclusion, safety and work-life balance. Lifestyle highlights include beaches, hiking, outdoor sports, cafés and a relaxed pace, although Auckland and Queenstown can be expensive. Most overseas workers need an appropriate visa, such as an Accredited Employer Work Visa, working holiday visa or residence pathway; eligibility depends on nationality, age, qualifications and employer sponsorship. Applicants should check Immigration New Zealand for current rules. Before relocating, budget for housing, transport, healthcare, flights and initial living costs, and confirm whether the employer provides staff accommodation or relocation support.
