The Accountant supports the hotel’s finance function by handling daily accounting transactions, accounts payable and receivable, bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, expense monitoring, invoice processing, month-end reporting and audit preparation. Candidates should have accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, strong numerical and organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence using Excel and accounting systems. Knowledge of Spanish accounting practices, tax requirements and hotel operations is advantageous. The role requires reliability, confidentiality, clear communication and the ability to meet deadlines in a busy, multicultural hotel environment. Fluency in Spanish and working English is typically expected, while familiarity with Accor systems is beneficial.
The Hoxton is a lifestyle hotel brand operated by Ennismore, part of Accor. It is known for neighbourhood-focused hotels that combine distinctive design, relaxed public spaces, restaurants, bars and cultural programming. The Hoxton, Poblenou is located in Barcelona’s creative Poblenou district and offers accommodation, dining and event spaces designed to attract both visitors and local residents. The brand promotes an informal, inclusive atmosphere and places emphasis on personality, community and locally inspired experiences. As part of the wider Accor group, employees may benefit from international hospitality exposure, structured training and group-wide career opportunities. Hotel finance teams support the commercial and operational performance of the property while maintaining accurate reporting and strong financial controls.
Spain’s main island destinations are the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Hospitality provides many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, finance and guest services, with seasonal recruitment especially common in the Balearics. Island life offers warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed social culture, although housing can be expensive and seasonal work may affect income stability. Spanish is important for daily life and many jobs, while English and German are valuable in tourism. EU and EEA citizens can work without a visa after completing registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit before relocating. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, healthcare, tax registration and contract details before accepting an offer. Barcelona is mainland Spain, but it provides useful access to both island regions.
