Spain’s main island destinations include Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. Hospitality, tourism, restaurants, retail, wellness, and entertainment provide the largest number of seasonal jobs, although this specific role is located in Barcelona on the mainland. Island life is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with strong local traditions, Mediterranean food, beaches, hiking, and vibrant summer events. Living costs and accommodation prices can rise considerably during peak season, so securing staff housing or shared accommodation is important. EU and EEA citizens can work in Spain with registration and a Spanish identification number. Non-EU applicants generally need a work-authorised visa or student internship arrangement before starting. Spanish is valuable, while English and other European languages are highly useful in tourism.
