Working in Bermuda

Bermuda offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, visitor services, events, marine activities, retail, finance and professional services. The culture blends British, Caribbean, Portuguese and international influences, with a strong emphasis on politeness, community and island traditions. Life is relaxed but relatively expensive, particularly housing, groceries and transport. The island has beautiful beaches, clear water, historic towns, sailing, diving and a well-developed outdoor lifestyle; private cars are restricted, so scooters and public buses are common. Foreign nationals generally need a work permit arranged through an employer before starting work, and employers usually must demonstrate that suitable local candidates were considered. Relocation candidates should confirm permit eligibility, housing assistance, medical coverage, flights and contract terms. Bermuda’s small size and seasonal tourism patterns can affect both job availability and accommodation costs.
