About the employer

Novotel is Accor’s internationally recognised midscale hotel brand, offering comfortable accommodation and practical services for business and leisure travellers. Novotel Sydney City Centre is located in central Sydney, close to offices, shopping, dining, public transport and major attractions. The hotel operates within Accor, a global hospitality group with a broad portfolio of hotels, resorts and lifestyle brands across many countries. Accor places strong emphasis on guest experience, employee development, inclusion, sustainability and internal career mobility. In a People & Culture position, employees can expect to work with hotel leadership and operational teams across recruitment, onboarding, training, employee engagement, compliance and workplace wellbeing. The role offers exposure to a diverse hospitality environment and the opportunity to build a career within a large international hotel network.

Working in Australia

Australia is a large and diverse country with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, events, retail, healthcare, technology and skilled professional services. Sydney offers an energetic multicultural lifestyle, excellent public transport, beaches, cultural venues and a competitive rental market. Workplace culture is generally informal, practical and collaborative, with emphasis on fairness, safety, punctuality and work-life balance. International applicants usually need an appropriate visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or working holiday visa, depending on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Hospitality experience and strong English can improve employment prospects, while HR roles may require knowledge of Australian employment law and relevant professional experience. Before relocating, candidates should check visa eligibility, secure suitable health insurance, budget for accommodation and understand tax, superannuation and employment conditions. Sydney’s costs are high, particularly rent and transport, so financial planning is important.
