The General Ledger Accountant supports accurate and timely financial reporting for SLS Barcelona. Typical responsibilities include maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closing, accounts payable and receivable support, and assisting with audits and financial controls. Candidates are generally expected to have accounting training or a relevant degree, experience in hotel or hospitality finance, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with accounting systems. Attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Good English and Spanish communication skills are normally expected; Catalan and experience with Accor or similar hotel systems would be advantageous.
SLS Barcelona is a luxury lifestyle hotel developed under the SLS brand, part of Ennismore, the creative hospitality company in which Accor is a major shareholder. SLS properties combine distinctive design, energetic restaurants and bars, entertainment, wellness, and highly personalized service. The Barcelona property reflects the city’s cosmopolitan character and is designed to attract both international visitors and local guests. Employees work in a dynamic environment where guest experience, creativity, teamwork, and commercial performance are important. As part of the wider Accor ecosystem, the hotel can offer access to international hospitality standards, training resources, and career opportunities across a broad global network. Finance team members play an important role in maintaining strong controls, accurate reporting, and smooth hotel operations.
Spain’s main island destinations include Mallorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Menorca, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. Tourism creates opportunities in hotels, restaurants, finance, reception, events, wellness, transport, and property services, with the strongest seasonal demand from spring through autumn. Island life offers warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities, relaxed social customs, and strong local traditions, although popular areas can be busy and housing may be expensive. Spanish is important for daily life and many jobs; English and other languages are valuable in tourism. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work without a visa, while non-EU nationals generally need an employment permit and appropriate residence visa before starting work. Relocating typically requires a contract, tax identification number, social security registration, and accommodation planning. Barcelona is not an island, but the same Spanish employment and immigration rules apply.
