Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Dubai includes several island destinations, including Bluewaters Island, where Delano Dubai is located. Hospitality offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, catering and tourism, particularly for candidates with culinary and customer-service skills. The culture is multicultural and respectful, with Islamic traditions influencing dress, public behaviour and holiday periods. Dubai has a warm climate, modern infrastructure, extensive shopping and dining, beaches and active nightlife, although living costs can be high. Most foreign employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; candidates should not work on a tourist visa. Employers may provide accommodation, transport, meals, insurance or airfare, but terms should be confirmed before accepting an offer. Relocating staff should budget for deposits, transport and personal expenses and carry certified education and identity documents.
