About the employer

Sofitel Dubai Downtown is a luxury hotel located in the heart of Dubai, close to Downtown Dubai, Burj Khalifa and major business and shopping destinations. It operates under Accor, a global hospitality group with hotels and resorts across many countries and brands. Sofitel combines French-inspired design, cuisine and service with the character of each destination. The hotel serves business travellers, leisure guests, groups and international visitors, offering accommodation, dining, meetings and guest services. As part of Accor, colleagues may benefit from structured training, internal mobility and employee programmes, although specific benefits depend on the position and employment contract.

Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the widest range of hospitality, tourism, retail, food service and events jobs. The culture is international but rooted in Islamic traditions, so modest dress, respectful behaviour and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Dubai has a fast-paced lifestyle, excellent public transport, modern shopping and entertainment, while housing and daily expenses can be high. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical testing and process residency permits after hiring; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Contracts may include accommodation, transport, meals, health insurance and annual leave, but terms vary. Candidates should verify the written offer, recruitment fees, working hours and accommodation before relocating. English is widely used, and Arabic is an advantage.
