The Technician – Employee Accommodation is responsible for maintaining and repairing staff housing facilities at Rixos Bab Al Bahr. Typical duties include basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning and general building maintenance, responding to work requests, carrying out preventive maintenance, and keeping accurate records. Candidates are expected to have relevant technical or vocational experience, practical troubleshooting skills, good safety awareness and the ability to work independently or as part of a hotel engineering team. Previous experience in hospitality, residential facilities or a similar resort environment is advantageous. Flexibility, reliability, physical fitness, customer-service awareness and a willingness to respond to urgent maintenance issues are important for this role.
Rixos Bab Al Bahr is an all-inclusive luxury resort located on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. It is part of the Rixos brand, operated within the Accor hospitality group, and offers extensive accommodation, restaurants, entertainment, pools, wellness facilities and family-focused activities. The resort serves international leisure travelers and operates a large, multicultural workforce across hotel operations, food and beverage, engineering, housekeeping and guest services. Employees commonly benefit from a structured international hospitality environment, shared staff accommodation and access to resort-related benefits, depending on their contract. The property’s scale means engineering teams support guest areas, kitchens, public facilities and employee accommodation, making practical maintenance skills and dependable teamwork particularly valuable.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island, although this role is located on Al Marjan Island, a developing resort destination in Ras Al Khaimah. Opportunities are strong in hospitality, tourism, engineering, construction, retail, logistics, healthcare and technology. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international community; modest dress, respect for Islam and awareness of local laws are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches and desert activities to shopping, dining and outdoor recreation, with Ras Al Khaimah generally quieter and less expensive than Dubai. Employers normally arrange a work permit and residence visa after hiring, while medical checks and Emirates ID registration are required. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, annual leave and end-of-service benefits before accepting an offer. Living costs vary, but staff housing can substantially reduce expenses.
