Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, finance, and technology. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population. Arabic is the official language, while English is widely used at work. Dubai offers a modern, fast-paced lifestyle, excellent public transport, shopping, beaches, dining, and entertainment, although summer temperatures are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Most expatriate employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical tests, Emirates ID processing, and labour documentation. Relocating candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, health insurance, annual leave, flights, gratuity, and probation terms before accepting an offer. Respect for local customs, modest public behaviour, and religious practices is important.
