Al Marjan Island is a modern waterfront development in Ras Al Khaimah, around an hour from Dubai International Airport. The UAE offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, retail, aviation, construction, technology and healthcare, with resorts regularly recruiting international staff. Life is generally safe, convenient and multicultural, with beaches, shopping centres, restaurants, water activities and desert excursions nearby. Islamic traditions influence public life, dress and behaviour, while workplaces commonly use English and include employees from many countries. Summers are extremely hot and humid, so air-conditioned facilities and transport are important. Employers usually arrange or support an employment visa, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and sometimes accommodation, meals, transport and health insurance. Employees should not work on a tourist visa and should confirm contract terms, benefits, probation, working hours and relocation support before travelling. Housing and transport arrangements are especially important when comparing resort offers.
