The Wellness & Lifestyles Manager will oversee the resort’s spa, wellness, recreation and lifestyle activities, ensuring an engaging and commercially successful guest experience. Candidates should have proven spa or wellness management experience, preferably in an upscale hotel or resort, together with strong knowledge of treatments, fitness, wellbeing programming and service standards. The role requires leadership, budgeting, sales and marketing ability, staff training skills, and confidence managing daily operations. Familiarity with Indonesian hospitality, guest relations and health and safety procedures is advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to be energetic, creative, commercially aware and highly guest-focused, while helping establish the wellness identity of the new Novotel Bali Ubud Resort.
Accor is a major international hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and lifestyle properties across more than 100 countries. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Novotel, ibis, Mercure, Pullman, Sofitel and Fairmont. Accor focuses on welcoming, inclusive hospitality and provides career opportunities across hotel operations, wellness, food and beverage, sales, finance and leadership. Novotel Bali Ubud Resort is a planned property in Bali’s cultural highlands, designed to combine contemporary accommodation with the area’s natural surroundings, artistic heritage and wellness appeal. As an opening team member, the Wellness & Lifestyles Manager would help shape operating standards, develop facilities and activities, recruit or train colleagues, and establish the guest experience before the resort welcomes visitors. The position offers the opportunity to build a new wellness program within an international hotel brand.
Bali is Indonesia’s best-known tourism island, offering strong opportunities in hotels, resorts, wellness, restaurants, tourism, diving, events and digital work. Ubud is quieter than the beach areas and is known for Balinese Hindu culture, temples, dance, crafts, rice terraces, yoga and a growing wellness scene. Daily life is generally relaxed, though traffic, humidity and seasonal tourism can be challenging. Living costs vary widely; accommodation near Ubud can be affordable outside central areas, while imported goods and premium rentals are expensive. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate Indonesian work and stay permit, commonly arranged through the company; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm visa costs, medical checks, insurance, accommodation, tax treatment and service-charge arrangements before accepting an offer. Respectful dress, temple etiquette and local customs are important, and learning basic Indonesian is useful.
