Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a highly international country offering opportunities in aviation, technology, tourism, finance, logistics, retail, and professional services. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the main employment centres, with modern infrastructure, reliable transport, extensive expatriate communities, and a warm climate. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a diverse, global lifestyle; respectful dress and behaviour are expected, particularly during Ramadan and in formal settings. Living costs can be high, especially for accommodation, although employer housing or allowances may be available. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, usually arranged after receiving an offer and completing medical and identification procedures. Relocating families may need dependent visas, health insurance, and school planning. Before moving, candidates should confirm salary structure, housing support, flights, probation terms, and visa conditions directly with the employer.
