Emirates is the international airline group based in Dubai and one of the world’s best-known long-haul carriers. Founded in 1985, the airline operates an extensive passenger and cargo network from its hub at Dubai International Airport, connecting the Middle East with destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australasia. Emirates is part of the Emirates Group, which also includes dnata and several aviation-related businesses. The organisation employs a large, multinational workforce across flight operations, airport services, engineering, customer service, technology, commercial functions and corporate support. Its Dubai hub operates around the clock, creating a strong focus on safety, security, service quality, operational discipline and international teamwork.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering the largest concentration of aviation, logistics, tourism, technology, finance and hospitality jobs. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international expatriate community; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai provides modern housing, public transport, healthcare, shopping and entertainment, although rents and schooling can be expensive. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are more comfortable. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges permits, medical testing and Emirates ID procedures. Bring verified qualifications and employment documents, and confirm housing, insurance, flights and end-of-service benefits before relocating. Arabic is the official language, while English is widely used at work.
