Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. It offers strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, construction, aviation, retail, finance and tourism, with major luxury hotels recruiting internationally. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions, Arab hospitality and a highly international lifestyle. Residents enjoy modern shopping, beaches, desert activities, restaurants and diverse communities, although summers are extremely hot. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges immigration processing, medical checks and an Emirates ID. UAE Nationals may have access to additional Emiratisation programmes and benefits. Relocating employees should confirm housing, transport, insurance, annual leave, flights and end-of-service terms in the contract. Living costs vary considerably, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi generally more expensive than other emirates.
