Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, healthcare, finance, technology, and logistics. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Western influences, reflected in its festivals, languages, neighbourhoods, and famous hawker food. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, shopping, parks, and international amenities, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees generally need a valid work pass arranged through an employer. Depending on salary, qualifications, occupation, and quota requirements, hospitality workers may be considered for an S Pass or another applicable work permit; approval is not automatic. Candidates should confirm eligibility with Shangri-La and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Relocation usually involves securing accommodation, arranging insurance and banking, and budgeting for deposits, transport, and living costs.
