Working in Singapore

Singapore offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, healthcare, technology, finance and international business. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with English widely used at work. Life is convenient and safe, though accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Public transport is excellent, and the city combines modern neighbourhoods, shopping and dining with parks, beaches and nearby islands such as Sentosa. Foreign workers normally need employer-sponsored permission to work, most commonly an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to Ministry of Manpower requirements, salary thresholds and eligibility rules. Before relocating, arrange a valid work pass, employment contract, medical checks if required and suitable accommodation. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, transport and healthcare, and check tax, insurance and employment conditions with the employer.
