The Guest Relations Officer (Residences) welcomes residents, handles enquiries, coordinates services, resolves concerns and helps maintain a personalised residential experience. Candidates are generally expected to have hospitality or customer-service experience, strong English communication skills and good knowledge of local services. Experience in luxury hotels, serviced residences or front office operations is advantageous. The role requires a polished appearance, patience, discretion, excellent follow-up and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Candidates should be comfortable using hotel systems, coordinating with housekeeping and engineering teams, and managing several requests while maintaining Shangri-La’s service standards.
Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. The company is recognised for its warm Asian hospitality, personalised guest service and premium accommodation. Its properties typically include rooms and suites, restaurants, wellness facilities, event spaces and long-stay residences. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on service culture, employee development, operational excellence and creating memorable experiences for guests and residents. In Indonesia, the group has operated high-end hospitality properties serving leisure travellers, business guests and local communities. Employees commonly work in multicultural teams and are expected to demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, attention to detail and genuine care in every interaction.
Indonesia offers varied hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other islands, particularly in hotels, resorts, restaurants, residences, wellness and tourism services. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, strong expatriate community and many resort jobs, although living costs and traffic can be high. Jakarta provides broader corporate and luxury-hotel opportunities but has a faster, busier urban lifestyle. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, modesty and respectful communication; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is helpful. Employees should expect tropical weather, diverse food and customs, and occasional religious or public-holiday closures. Foreign nationals normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Before relocating, confirm accommodation, health insurance, transport, taxes and contract benefits with the employer.
