About the employer

Shangri-La is a major international luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. Its properties are known for personalised service, comfortable accommodation, restaurants, bars, wellness facilities and event spaces. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates established city and resort properties, including hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Sabah. The group places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, service standards, teamwork and employee development. A Food & Beverage Administrator would typically work behind the scenes to help outlets and managers run efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation, smooth communication and dependable administrative support. Benefits may include staff meals, uniform, training, hotel discounts and other benefits depending on the property and employment terms.

Working in Malaysia

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail and business services, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak. Langkawi is popular for resort and marine-tourism work, while Penang combines hospitality with a lively heritage and food culture. Island life is generally warm, relaxed and multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences. Costs are usually lower than in many international resort destinations, although accommodation on popular islands can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored employment pass before starting work; the employer generally handles approval and immigration procedures, and requirements depend on nationality, salary and role. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, transport, healthcare and contract benefits before relocating. Malaysia has tropical weather, strong local cuisine and good access to beaches, diving and nature, but island locations may have fewer services and career options than major cities.
