Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. In Hong Kong, Island Shangri-La is a landmark luxury hotel in Admiralty, while Kowloon Shangri-La is located in Tsim Sha Tsui. Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, property management, engineering, construction, finance, technology, retail, and professional services. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, and workplaces are generally fast-paced, practical, and customer-focused. Life is convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, busy shopping districts, hiking trails, beaches, and a vibrant social scene. Accommodation can be expensive, especially near major business areas, so many workers commute from Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer, commonly through the General Employment Policy; the employer and applicant must meet eligibility and salary requirements. EU, UK, Australian, Canadian, and many other passport holders may visit visa-free, but visitors cannot work. Relocation usually involves securing a job offer, arranging documentation, finding housing, and obtaining medical or insurance coverage.
