The Wellness Attendant supports the cleanliness, hygiene and smooth operation of the hotel’s wellness and fitness facilities. Duties may include cleaning treatment rooms, changing areas, showers, lockers and public spaces; replenishing towels and amenities; checking equipment and reporting maintenance or safety concerns; and assisting guests courteously. Candidates should be service-minded, physically fit, reliable and attentive to detail. Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, spa, gym or cleaning operations is helpful, while basic English and Cantonese are advantageous in Hong Kong. The successful candidate is expected to maintain Shangri-La’s high standards of presentation, follow health and safety procedures, protect guest privacy and work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, upscale accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and personalised guest service. Shangri-La operates several properties in Hong Kong and employs colleagues across hotel operations, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, wellness and corporate functions. Its service culture places strong emphasis on care, professionalism, teamwork and attention to detail. Employees may receive structured training, staff benefits and opportunities for career development within the group, although specific terms depend on the property, employment contract and role.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology and professional services. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and hospitality. Life is fast-paced, safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking and beaches. Accommodation can be expensive, especially near major hotel districts, so many employees choose shared housing or areas connected by the MTR. Foreign nationals generally need an approved employment visa before starting work, with the employer normally providing sponsorship and supporting documents. Applicants should confirm salary, accommodation, medical cover, working hours and visa arrangements in writing. Hong Kong’s subtropical climate is humid, with hot summers and occasional typhoons, so newcomers should plan for compact urban living and a competitive rental market.
