Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised internationally for its hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. The group operates under the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands, offering accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness and event services. Its properties are known for personalised Asian-inspired hospitality, high service standards and strong local connections. The company employs a diverse international workforce and provides opportunities across hotel operations, corporate functions, commercial teams and leadership roles. In Hong Kong, Shangri-La maintains a significant presence through luxury hotels and corporate operations, making it a well-established employer for professionals in communications, marketing, hospitality and business support.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, tourism, communications and international business. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, reflected in its food, festivals, arts and efficient urban lifestyle. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, busy neighbourhoods, harbour views, shopping and easy access to hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, so newcomers often compare districts such as Kowloon, Hong Kong Island and the New Territories according to commute and budget. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, while eligible talent may qualify through broader talent-admission schemes. Employers usually assist with visa paperwork, contracts and relocation guidance. Before moving, candidates should confirm salary, housing support, medical coverage, tax arrangements and visa eligibility. Hong Kong is fast-paced and competitive, but its international environment can provide valuable career growth and networking opportunities.
