Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The company is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and premium accommodation, dining, wellness and event facilities. Shangri-La properties typically employ large multicultural teams and provide structured operational, leadership and guest-service environments. In Indonesia, the group has operated prominent hotels and resorts serving business travellers, leisure guests, weddings and conferences. Employees may benefit from international service standards, internal training and opportunities to build careers across departments or destinations. The company generally looks for people who are professional, guest-focused, commercially aware and comfortable working in fast-paced hotel operations.
For this role, Bali is the most likely Indonesian relocation destination, although Shangri-La opportunities may also arise in Jakarta or other resort islands. Bali offers strong employment prospects in hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, wellness and finance, with additional opportunities through international hospitality groups. Local culture is shaped by Balinese Hindu traditions, ceremonies, family connections and respectful community life; modest dress and considerate behaviour are important around temples. Lifestyle ranges from busy, expatriate-oriented areas such as Seminyak and Canggu to quieter coastal and inland communities. Employers normally sponsor the required work permit and limited-stay KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, tax treatment, accommodation, insurance and relocation support before accepting an offer. Housing and transport costs vary significantly by area, so budgeting carefully is advisable.
