Requirements typically include a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field, along with several years of experience in brand management, marketing, consulting or hospitality. Strong project management, research, analytical, presentation and communication skills are expected. The candidate should be able to manage multiple stakeholders, protect brand consistency, translate strategy into practical guidelines and work confidently with regional and corporate teams. Experience in luxury hospitality, international brands or customer experience is advantageous. Fluency in English is normally required, while Cantonese or Mandarin may be beneficial for a Hong Kong-based role.
Shangri-La Group is a luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders Hotels. The group is known for Asian-inspired hospitality, attentive service and premium guest experiences. Its corporate functions cover brand strategy, marketing, operations, finance, technology and development. Employees may work across regional and global teams supporting a diverse portfolio of destinations and property types. Shangri-La places emphasis on service culture, colleague development, responsible business practices and maintaining consistent brand standards while adapting experiences to local markets.
Hong Kong is a dynamic international business centre made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with excellent public transport and easy access to regional destinations. Job opportunities are strong in hospitality, finance, retail, technology, aviation, tourism and professional services, although competition is high. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences; English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is valuable in daily life and customer-facing roles. Residents enjoy dense urban living, excellent food, shopping, nightlife, hiking trails and beaches, but accommodation can be expensive and space is limited. Overseas employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, commonly under the General Employment Policy, and should secure approval before working. Relocation planning should include housing, health insurance, banking and tax arrangements.
