The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department with daily administration, room-status updates, work-order follow-up, staff communication, record keeping and coordination with Front Office and Engineering. Candidates should have strong organisation, communication and computer skills, attention to detail, and a professional approach to guest service. Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is helpful, although the role may suit an entry-level UAE National interested in hospitality. The successful candidate is expected to maintain confidentiality, respond promptly to requests, keep accurate records, support room readiness and uphold Shangri-La’s service, grooming, safety and quality standards. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally required in a hotel environment.
Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and known for its hotels, resorts and distinctive approach to warm, personalised service. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international destinations. Its UAE hotels serve business and leisure travellers and typically provide accommodation, dining, wellness, meetings and event facilities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, cultural awareness, teamwork and professional development. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment where presentation, reliability and attention to detail are important. Benefits and working conditions vary by property and position, but hotel roles may include meals, transport, medical coverage, accommodation or staff rates. As a UAE National opportunity, this position may also support local career development and Emiratisation objectives within the hospitality sector.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. Hospitality offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events and travel services, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture combines Islamic traditions, family values and a highly international workforce; modest dress and respectful conduct are appreciated. Lifestyle can be modern and energetic, with beaches, shopping, dining and desert activities, although summers are extremely hot. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, residence permit, medical examination and Emirates ID for expatriate staff. UAE Nationals do not require an employment visa, but employment and Emiratisation procedures still apply. Relocating employees should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, working hours and benefits in writing. Living costs vary considerably, with Dubai generally more expensive than other emirates.
