Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is helpful but may not be essential. Candidates should be service-minded, well presented, detail-conscious and comfortable working shifts, weekends and public holidays. Good communication skills, teamwork and a willingness to follow hygiene, safety and hotel service standards are expected. Cantonese or English communication may be advantageous in Hong Kong.
Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. Shangri-La properties are known for attentive service, refined accommodation, dining, wellness facilities and a strong emphasis on genuine hospitality. The group employs people in front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, culinary, engineering, sales and corporate functions. At Shangri-La Hong Kong, employees work in a highly international hotel environment serving leisure travellers, business guests, local residents and events. The company generally places importance on professionalism, guest care, teamwork, training and consistent operating standards.
Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected city with major opportunities in hospitality, finance, retail, technology, logistics and professional services. Its hotel sector offers roles for both experienced workers and entry-level candidates, especially in housekeeping, food and beverage, culinary operations and guest services. Life is fast-paced and urban, with excellent public transport, dense neighbourhoods, international dining and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business settings. Overseas workers normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer; approval depends on qualifications, a genuine job offer and market needs. Relocation costs and accommodation can be significant, so applicants should confirm salary, staff housing, insurance, working hours and visa support before accepting an offer.
