Its Hong Kong hotels serve business travellers, leisure guests, families, events and long-stay residents, with extensive accommodation, dining, wellness and conference facilities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on Asian hospitality, personalised service, colleague development, operational excellence and responsible business practices. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment and are expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, discretion, safety and customer care. A Security Supervisor supports these standards by helping create a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment for guests, colleagues and visitors.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic city with excellent opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, finance, technology, logistics and professional services. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit security, front-office, food-and-beverage, housekeeping and engineering staff, particularly in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Admiralty, Causeway Bay and airport areas. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and hotels. Life is convenient, fast-paced and urban, with efficient public transport, excellent dining, hiking trails, beaches and nearby islands. Rents can be high, so accommodation and commuting costs should be considered carefully. Overseas employees generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa, supported by relevant qualifications and experience; the employer normally handles the application. New arrivals should arrange a valid passport, police or background documents if requested, medical checks where applicable, and proof of employment. Hong Kong offers a dynamic lifestyle but demands adaptability, punctuality and shift-work flexibility.
