The Sales & Marketing Coordinator supports Shangri-La Le Touessrok Mauritius with sales administration, marketing campaigns, promotional materials, digital content, client communication, event coordination and market reporting. Candidates are generally expected to have experience in hotel sales, marketing or administration, strong organisational and communication skills, good attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant hotel systems. Experience in a luxury hospitality environment is advantageous. The role requires a professional, commercially minded person who can manage deadlines, coordinate with departments, maintain accurate records and represent the resort positively. Fluency in English and French is normally valuable in Mauritius, while additional languages and knowledge of leisure, corporate and destination marketing are welcome.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. Its brands are known for warm Asian hospitality, personalised service and high-quality accommodation, dining, wellness and event facilities. In Mauritius, Shangri-La Le Touessrok is a premium beachfront resort on the island’s east coast, recognised for its lagoon setting, golf, restaurants, spa and strong leisure and events offering. The resort serves international holidaymakers, weddings, corporate groups and repeat luxury travellers. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment where service standards, teamwork, discretion and attention to guest experience are important. Sales and marketing staff contribute to building destination demand, maintaining partner relationships and supporting the resort’s commercial performance.
Mauritius offers employment opportunities in tourism, hotels, restaurants, aviation, finance, technology, education, healthcare and renewable energy. Hospitality remains a major sector, particularly around Grand Baie, Balaclava, Port Louis, Flic en Flac and the east-coast resorts. The culture blends Indian, African, French, Chinese and British influences, with English widely used in business and French and Mauritian Creole common in daily life. Residents enjoy beaches, hiking, water sports, markets, music and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle, although traffic and imported goods can be costly. Foreign employees normally require employer sponsorship and an Occupation Permit or appropriate work permit before starting employment; requirements depend on salary, role and nationality. Candidates should confirm current rules with the Mauritian Economic Development Board or their employer. Relocation planning should include accommodation, healthcare, transport, insurance and schooling where relevant.
