The Service Leader – Laundry supervises daily laundry operations, including receiving, sorting, washing, drying, pressing, repairing, storing and distributing linen, uniforms and guest garments. Requirements generally include hotel laundry or housekeeping experience, knowledge of commercial laundry equipment and chemical handling, basic computer and inventory skills, and the ability to lead a team. The successful candidate is expected to maintain Shangri-La’s cleanliness and presentation standards, control linen usage, follow health and safety procedures, minimize damage and wastage, coordinate with housekeeping and other departments, and provide prompt, service-focused support. Flexibility for shifts, weekends and public holidays, good communication, physical stamina and attention to detail are important.
Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and known for its hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. The group is recognized for warm Asian hospitality, attentive service and well-established standards in accommodation, dining, wellness and guest experiences. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates prominent properties in destinations such as Manila, Cebu and Boracay, employing teams across rooms, food and beverage, engineering, guest services and administration. Employees typically work in an international environment with structured operating procedures, service training and opportunities to develop a hospitality career. Benefits vary by property and position but may include meals, uniforms, service charge, medical coverage, discounts and staff accommodation or transportation in selected locations.
The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities across Luzon, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other resort islands. Jobs are available in hotels, restaurants, tourism, housekeeping, laundry, food service, engineering and guest relations, with stronger demand in major cities and established beach destinations. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented and community-minded, while English is widely used in workplaces. Island life can offer warm weather, outdoor activities and a relaxed pace, although transport, healthcare and internet access vary by location. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employer-sponsored work visa or permit before starting employment; tourists generally cannot legally work. Employers often assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm requirements with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and their embassy. Relocation planning should include accommodation, transport, health insurance, banking, taxes and rainy-season conditions. Local salaries may be modest, but resort benefits and service charges can improve overall compensation.
