Canberra has strong public-sector employment, while the Illawarra region offers roles in health, education, manufacturing, services and tourism. Australian workplace culture is generally professional, practical and collaborative, with emphasis on inclusion, work-life balance and workplace safety. Lifestyle varies from vibrant cities and coastal communities to regional towns, with outdoor activities, beaches, national parks and a multicultural food scene. Living costs, especially housing, can be high in major cities. Skilled workers may explore employer-sponsored, skilled migration, regional or working-holiday visas, depending on nationality, occupation and eligibility.
