Working in Australia

Australia is an island nation offering hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cafés, clubs and tourism businesses. Popular employment areas include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Queensland’s coast and regional destinations such as the Hunter Valley. Workplace culture is generally friendly, practical and team-focused, with strong expectations around punctuality, safety, equality and customer service. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal or rural communities, with outdoor activities, beaches, national parks and sports widely enjoyed. Living costs can be high, especially for accommodation in major cities, so regional resort locations may offer a quieter and sometimes more affordable option. Eligible young travellers may use Working Holiday visas subclass 417 or 462; other possibilities include student, skilled and employer-sponsored visas. Check current Australian immigration rules, tax requirements and work rights before relocating.
