Responsibilities may include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, waste removal, replenishing supplies and reporting maintenance or safety issues. Candidates should have good attention to detail, a reliable and positive attitude, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a housekeeping team. Previous hotel or commercial cleaning experience is helpful but may not be essential. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays is expected, along with professional guest service and safe handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort is a resort property located in the Hunter Valley wine region of New South Wales, near Pokolbin. It offers accommodation, restaurants, conference and event facilities, recreational amenities and access to the area's vineyards, golf courses and natural attractions. The resort operates under Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with hotels and resorts across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Australia. AVANI is positioned as a contemporary lifestyle brand, combining relaxed accommodation with attentive service and destination-focused experiences. Employees typically work in a guest-oriented environment where cleanliness, teamwork, presentation and personalised service are important. The resort supports tourism in the Hunter Valley and provides employment opportunities across housekeeping, food and beverage, front office, maintenance, events and administration.
Australia is a large country rather than an island destination, and AVANI Cypress Lakes Resort is in the Hunter Valley, about two hours from Sydney. Job opportunities are strong in hospitality, tourism, cleaning, agriculture, healthcare, construction and regional services. Australian workplace culture generally values punctuality, direct communication, teamwork, safety and a friendly but professional approach. The Hunter Valley offers a relaxed rural lifestyle, vineyards, restaurants, outdoor activities and a lower cost of living than Sydney, although a car is often useful. International applicants may consider Working Holiday, skilled, employer-sponsored or other temporary visas, depending on nationality, age, qualifications and eligibility. Before relocating, arrange the correct visa, tax file number, Australian bank account, suitable accommodation and health insurance. Check visa conditions carefully, particularly work limits and regional requirements.
