Working in Australia

Australia is a large island country with job opportunities in hospitality, tourism, healthcare, construction, agriculture, technology and professional services. Resort and housekeeping work is commonly available in coastal towns, wine regions and major tourist destinations, although regional locations may require a car. Australian workplace culture is generally informal, respectful and safety-conscious, with emphasis on punctuality, teamwork and fair employment conditions. Lifestyle varies from city living to quieter regional communities; outdoor activities, beaches, sport and café culture are popular. Most overseas workers need a visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, Work and Holiday visa, student visa with work limits, or an employer-sponsored visa. Eligibility depends on nationality, age, qualifications and employment conditions. Before relocating, arrange suitable visa approval, tax and banking details, accommodation, transport and health insurance. Check official Australian government immigration information and employment-award rates before accepting an offer.
