Requirements generally include previous hospitality or supervisory experience, strong customer-service skills, sound knowledge of food and beverage procedures, and the ability to work within Australian service and responsible alcohol regulations. An RSA certificate is expected, while food-safety knowledge and experience with point-of-sale systems are advantageous. The successful candidate will lead and motivate team members, coordinate shifts, maintain service standards, handle guest enquiries, assist with stock control and cash procedures, and work closely with kitchen and front-office teams. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays is important. Candidates should be professional, energetic, well organised and comfortable working in a busy resort environment.

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars, tourism and events, particularly in Queensland, regional coastal areas and major cities. Port Douglas is a relaxed tropical destination known for beaches, reef trips, rainforest, outdoor activities and a strong tourism economy. The culture is informal, multicultural and friendly, with an emphasis on work-life balance and responsible workplace standards. Lifestyle costs can be high, especially for rent, transport and groceries, although resort locations may provide staff benefits or accommodation assistance. International workers may consider a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored options or other eligible temporary and skilled visas; requirements depend on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Applicants should confirm visa conditions, work rights, tax obligations and health insurance before relocating. A car can be useful outside major centres, and tropical weather, seasonal tourism demand and wet-season conditions should be considered when planning the move.
