About the employer

Carnival Corporation & plc is one of the world’s largest leisure travel companies and a leading operator of cruise brands. Its portfolio includes Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Cunard, Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises, and P&O Cruises Australia. The company operates a large international fleet serving destinations across the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska, Asia, Australia, and other regions. Carnival employs people both onboard its ships and in shoreside offices, supporting guest services, marine operations, hotel services, entertainment, technology, finance, and environmental programs. Sustainability is an increasingly important part of its business, with investments in fuel efficiency, alternative fuels, emissions reduction, waste management, and cleaner ship technologies. The company’s corporate operations are strongly connected to maritime safety, guest experience, commercial performance, and responsible tourism.

Working in On Cruise

Working on a cruise ship offers opportunities in marine operations, hotel services, culinary departments, guest relations, entertainment, retail, security, engineering, environmental operations, and corporate or shore-based support. Life onboard is multicultural and fast-paced, with shared accommodation, long working hours, structured routines, and limited personal space, but employees often receive meals, accommodation, travel, training, and access to recreational facilities. Crew members work with colleagues and guests from many countries, so respect, flexibility, teamwork, and cultural awareness are essential. Visa requirements depend on nationality, embarkation port, and itinerary; crew commonly need a valid passport, medical clearance, seafarer documents, and visas such as a U.S. C-1/D when joining or transiting through the United States. Relocation is usually arranged around the assigned vessel and joining port rather than a permanent island move. Candidates should confirm contracts, benefits, travel arrangements, and visa support directly with Carnival.
