Familiarity with Opera, Delphi or other hotel systems is advantageous. A service-focused attitude, confidence when communicating with clients and knowledge of Singapore’s hospitality market are expected.

Shangri-La Singapore is a well-established luxury hotel near Orchard Road, offering guest rooms and suites, restaurants, meeting facilities, gardens and leisure amenities. Its commercial teams work with corporate clients, travel partners, event organisers and individual guests to grow room, meeting and catering revenue. Career opportunities may include hotel sales, events, reservations, front office, food and beverage, culinary, housekeeping and corporate support functions.
Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare and retail. Hotel sales roles are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, the airport and major business districts. The culture is multicultural, professional and generally orderly, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Singapore offers excellent public transport, reliable services, diverse food, shopping and easy access to parks and coastal areas. Living costs, especially rent, are high; many newcomers share accommodation or live farther from the city centre. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, and approval depends on salary, qualifications and current government criteria. Arrange the pass before starting work, and budget for deposits, insurance and moving expenses. The tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
