The Stewarding Supervisor oversees kitchen sanitation, dishwashing, waste management, equipment cleanliness and stewarding staff in accordance with Shangri-La standards and Philippine health and safety regulations. Candidates are generally expected to have hospitality experience, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant, with supervisory experience in stewarding or kitchen operations. Good knowledge of hygiene practices, chemical handling, equipment maintenance and workplace safety is important. The role requires leadership, organization, physical stamina and the ability to work shifts, weekends and holidays. The successful candidate should train team members, coordinate with chefs and other departments, control supplies, maintain cleanliness records and ensure efficient support for daily food and beverage operations.
Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. Its properties are known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, distinctive dining, wellness facilities and carefully designed guest experiences. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates well-known properties in destinations such as Manila, Cebu and Boracay. The company employs people across hotel operations, including food and beverage, culinary services, housekeeping, guest relations, engineering, sales and administration. Employees typically work in a structured, service-focused environment with emphasis on grooming, teamwork, guest satisfaction, training and operational consistency. Benefits may include meals, uniforms, service charge, accommodation or transport support, medical coverage and career development, depending on the property and employment terms.
The Philippines is an archipelago with strong hospitality, tourism and service-sector opportunities, especially in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other resort destinations. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit staff for food and beverage, culinary operations, housekeeping, front office, engineering, wellness and guest activities. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Island living can offer warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed social lifestyle, although transport, internet access and medical services vary by location. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, while Filipino applicants must meet local employment requirements. Before relocating, candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, salary, service-charge arrangements, work hours, insurance and visa sponsorship. Major islands have airports, but smaller destinations may require domestic flights, ferries or road transfers.
