The Housekeeping Runner supports hotel room attendants and supervisors by delivering linen, amenities, cleaning supplies and guest items throughout the property. The role may include collecting used linen, maintaining storage areas, replenishing housekeeping carts, responding to requests and helping keep service areas clean and organised. Candidates should be physically fit, reliable and comfortable standing, walking and lifting for extended periods. Good teamwork, a service-minded attitude, attention to detail and basic communication skills are expected. Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is helpful but may not be essential. The successful candidate should be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and follow Shangri-La’s hygiene, safety and guest-service standards.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for Asian-inspired service, elegant accommodation and strong guest care. The group operates hotels, resorts and city properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. Its Hong Kong properties serve business and leisure travellers and offer accommodation, restaurants, meetings, events and wellness facilities. Shangri-La places emphasis on personalised service, teamwork, professional development and creating memorable guest experiences. Employees commonly work in a multicultural environment with structured hotel procedures and opportunities to build careers across rooms, food and beverage, culinary, engineering and corporate functions. Benefits and employment conditions vary by property and position, but may include staff meals, uniforms, training, medical coverage, transport support or preferential room rates.
Hong Kong offers employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, technology, logistics, healthcare and professional services. Hospitality jobs are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and resort areas such as Lantau. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, efficient public transport, compact urban living and a strong food scene. Lifestyle options range from busy city districts and shopping to beaches, hiking trails, islands and country parks. Rent can be high, so many workers share accommodation or live farther from central areas. Overseas employees generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa before starting work; eligibility depends on qualifications, experience, salary and the genuine local need for the role. Applicants should confirm visa sponsorship, contract terms, accommodation, medical requirements and benefits directly with the employer. A valid passport, employment contract and proof of qualifications are normally required.
