About the employer

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised internationally for refined service, distinctive hotels and resorts, and a strong emphasis on genuine Asian hospitality. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other key destinations. Shangri-La hotels commonly offer accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, events and guest experiences designed for both leisure and business travellers. In the United Arab Emirates, the company is known for premium properties serving a diverse international clientele. Employees are generally expected to maintain high service standards, teamwork, cultural awareness and attention to detail. The organisation also provides opportunities across hotel operations, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, finance and management, with career development and training forming important parts of its employment offering.

Working in United Arab Emirates

Although the UAE is not an island, it offers a highly international lifestyle across seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi providing the greatest concentration of hotel and tourism jobs. Opportunities are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, aviation, retail and wellness. UAE culture blends Islamic traditions with a large expatriate community; respectful dress, behaviour and awareness of local customs are important. Life is modern and convenient, but summers are extremely hot, and accommodation and transport costs can be significant. Employers usually arrange or sponsor an employment visa, residence permit, medical examination and Emirates ID after hiring. Confirm whether housing, transport, meals, insurance and flights are included in the offer. UAE Nationals may receive additional career support through Emiratisation programmes. Bring certified documents and check contract terms carefully before relocating.
