Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. Its properties are known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and a strong focus on guest comfort. Shangri-La hotels commonly offer accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness and leisure facilities, creating opportunities across hotel operations and technical services. In the United Arab Emirates, the group operates luxury properties serving business travellers, holidaymakers, weddings and major events. Employees are generally expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, cultural awareness and a genuine commitment to personalised service. Benefits for hotel roles may include accommodation or housing support, meals, transport, medical coverage, annual leave and return air travel, although the exact package depends on the property, contract and employment level.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, with extensive coastlines and resort destinations. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail, construction and technology provide many job opportunities, particularly for people with hotel, audiovisual and technical experience. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international expatriate community; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected. Lifestyle options range from beaches and shopping malls to desert activities, water sports and vibrant dining scenes. Employers normally sponsor work visas, residence permits and medical checks for overseas hires. A passport valid for the required period, authenticated qualifications where requested and a medical fitness examination may be needed. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, working hours, gratuity and probation terms before relocating. Living costs vary considerably, especially between Dubai and other emirates.
