The Fire Life Safety Coordinator is responsible for protecting residents, guests, employees and property through effective fire-prevention and emergency-response systems. Requirements typically include experience in fire and life-safety operations, facilities management, security or engineering; knowledge of Indonesian fire regulations and international safety standards; and training in fire response, first aid or emergency management. The successful candidate should be able to inspect alarms, extinguishers, pumps, evacuation routes and emergency equipment, coordinate drills, maintain accurate records, investigate incidents and liaise with local authorities and contractors. Strong communication, reporting, organisation and problem-solving skills are expected. The role may require shift work, regular inspections and the confidence to lead emergency procedures in a residential hospitality environment.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, residences and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. The company is known for personalised service, quality accommodation, dining, wellness facilities and strong attention to guest safety and comfort. Employees generally work in multicultural teams and are expected to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, hospitality and respect for local communities. A Fire Life Safety Coordinator supporting Shangri-La Residences would contribute to the safe operation of the property by maintaining emergency systems, supporting compliance, training staff and helping residents and guests understand evacuation and emergency procedures. Exact duties, benefits and work location should be confirmed directly with the recruitment team, as Shangri-La properties can differ considerably in size and operating arrangements.
Indonesia offers hospitality, property, engineering, security and safety opportunities in destinations such as Bali, Jakarta, Batam, Lombok and other resort islands. Bali is especially attractive for international hotel careers, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, outdoor activities and a strong expatriate community, although traffic, seasonal demand and living costs in popular areas can be high. Indonesian culture places importance on politeness, community, religious observance and respectful dress, with local customs varying between islands. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work authorisation, commonly involving a work permit and limited-stay residence visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with permits, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance and relocation, but this must be confirmed in writing. Before moving, check the exact island, housing costs, healthcare access, contract terms, tax treatment and visa responsibilities.
