Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Asia and headquartered in Hong Kong. It operates hotels, resorts, residences, and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Shangri-La properties are known for personalised service, comfortable accommodation, extensive dining facilities, and strong attention to guest experience. The company employs people across hotel operations, culinary services, front office, housekeeping, engineering, finance, and management. Its culture generally emphasises genuine hospitality, teamwork, professional standards, and respect for local communities. In Indonesia, Shangri-La has operated high-end hotels serving business and leisure travellers, with opportunities for employees to develop through structured training and exposure to international hospitality practices.
Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other tourist destinations. Bali is the most internationally oriented, with strong demand in hotels, restaurants, wellness, and tourism, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide broader corporate and luxury-hotel careers. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, religious diversity, and respectful communication. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities; costs are generally lower outside central Jakarta and popular areas of Bali. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship, an appropriate work permit, and a limited-stay visa or residence permit, so these arrangements should be confirmed before accepting a position. Employers may provide meals, accommodation, transport, insurance, or service charge, but benefits vary. Applicants should verify the exact island, property, contract terms, salary, working hours, and relocation support directly with Shangri-La.
