Working in Singapore

Singapore is a highly connected city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare, education, logistics, and international business. The culture is multicultural, organised, and generally professional, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, offering excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, waterfront areas, and frequent regional travel. Housing can be expensive, especially near central districts, while public transport and healthcare are efficient. Foreign professionals normally require an employment pass or another Ministry of Manpower work permit, with the employer usually submitting the application. Senior roles require suitable qualifications, experience, and a competitive salary. Before relocating, candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, contract benefits, accommodation costs, taxation, healthcare coverage, and eligibility for dependants. Singapore's tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
