This six-month contract role leads rewards and benefits initiatives across Shangri-La’s Hong Kong operations or wider regional business. The successful candidate is expected to have substantial experience in compensation, benefits, job evaluation, salary benchmarking, incentive schemes and HR policy implementation, ideally within a large hospitality or multinational organization. A degree in human resources, business or a related discipline is normally required, together with strong knowledge of Hong Kong employment practices and benefits regulations. The role requires excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills, discretion when handling sensitive employee data, and the ability to manage projects independently while advising senior leaders and HR teams.
Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders Hotels. The group is known for attentive service, premium accommodation, dining, wellness facilities and strong links to local communities. Shangri-La employs a large, multicultural workforce and supports corporate functions such as human resources, finance, technology, commercial strategy and operations. Working for the company can provide exposure to a globally recognised hotel brand, regional projects and diverse workplace practices. Benefits and working arrangements vary by property, role and contract terms, so candidates should confirm eligibility, medical coverage, leave, bonus arrangements and any relocation support during the recruitment process.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, aviation, education and professional services. The city combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, excellent restaurants and a fast-paced business culture. Daily life is convenient, with efficient public transport, reliable services, hiking trails, beaches and extensive shopping, although housing can be expensive and apartments are often compact. English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is valuable for many customer-facing roles; Mandarin is also useful. Foreign professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, and the role must meet immigration requirements relating to qualifications, salary and genuine business need. Dependants may usually apply for visas under approved arrangements. New arrivals should budget for rent deposits, transport, healthcare and insurance, and arrange accommodation near an MTR line. Hong Kong is a practical base for regional travel, with an international airport and frequent connections across Asia.
