Shift work, weekends and public holidays are normally required.

In Hong Kong, the group operates prominent luxury properties serving business travellers, tourists, local residents and major events. Benefits, working hours and career-development opportunities vary by property, department and employment contract.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected city with a dense urban core, outlying islands, hiking trails, beaches and an international business community. Hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, technology, healthcare and professional services provide regular employment opportunities, while hotel roles are concentrated in areas such as Tsim Sha Tsui, Admiralty, Central, Causeway Bay and the airport. Cantonese is widely spoken; English is common in business and hotels, and Mandarin is useful. Life is energetic and convenient, but rent can be expensive and apartments are often small. Public transport is excellent, with the MTR, buses, ferries and trams. Overseas employees generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa and must meet Immigration Department requirements; dependants may apply separately. Secure a written offer, confirm accommodation and benefits, and budget for deposits, insurance and relocation costs before moving.
