The company places strong emphasis on Asian hospitality, personalized guest service, employee development and responsible business practices. Shangri-La properties employ teams across rooms, food and beverage, finance, engineering, wellness and guest relations. Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, finance, retail, aviation, technology, events and tourism, with luxury hospitality employers concentrated on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the airport area. The culture is fast-paced and international, combining Cantonese traditions, Chinese festivals and global influences. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking trails, beaches and a vibrant nightlife, although housing can be expensive and living space is often limited. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by an eligible employer; the company normally supports the application, while qualifications, a confirmed offer and proof of relevant experience are important. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, transport and healthcare, and arrange accommodation before arrival. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and international hotels.
