About the employer

The group is known for its warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and strong emphasis on guest experience. In Mauritius, Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa is a luxury beachfront resort offering accommodation, restaurants, recreational activities, wellness facilities, events and destination experiences. The property serves international leisure travelers, families, couples, groups and corporate guests. Employees typically work in a multicultural, customer-focused environment where teamwork, presentation, discretion and consistent service are highly valued. Benefits may vary by position and can include meals, uniforms, training, service charge eligibility, transport or accommodation support, and staff discounts.

Working in Mauritius

Mauritius offers opportunities in tourism, hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, technology, education, healthcare and professional services, with hospitality remaining a major employer. The culture blends Indian, African, European and Chinese influences, reflected in its languages, food, festivals and music. English is the official working language, while French and Mauritian Creole are widely spoken. Lifestyle is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, hiking, water sports, markets and a generally warm climate. Living costs vary considerably, particularly for rent near Grand Baie, Moka and the western resorts. Foreign employees normally need an approved work permit or Occupation Permit before starting work; the employer commonly supports the application. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, transport, insurance, salary, service charge and contract terms before relocating. International flights, healthcare arrangements and document legalization should also be planned in advance.
