Working in Malaysia

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Malacca and resort islands such as Perhentian, Redang and Tioman. Jobs are available in hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourism, events and administration, with stronger seasonal demand in beach destinations. The culture combines Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in hotels. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed island communities, with generally affordable food and transport outside major tourist areas. Malaysia is warm and humid year-round, while east-coast islands experience monsoon closures, usually from November to February. Foreign employees normally need an approved employment pass sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements vary by nationality and position. Relocating staff should arrange a valid passport, medical checks, accommodation and local banking after arrival.
