Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other resort islands, especially in hotels, restaurants, tourism, wellness and events. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, a strong expatriate community and a vibrant Hindu culture. Daily life can be affordable outside major tourist areas, although popular locations such as Seminyak, Canggu and Ubud are relatively expensive. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, family and religious diversity; respectful dress and behaviour are important. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or limited-stay permit before starting employment. Working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with immigration, accommodation, health insurance and relocation, but arrangements should be confirmed in writing. New arrivals should budget for housing deposits, transport, document processing and possible tax obligations, and should check current regulations with the Indonesian embassy or immigration authorities.
